Just kicking back tonight listening to Ronny Mack on the overnight and trying to figure out how I will be more productive on Sunday than I was today. LOL.
Let's just say that I did not set the bar too high today. After sleeping about 2.5 hours last night I headed over for my monthly massage with Becky at Massage Envy. She asked me where I was sore and I gave her the usual I am tight all over once again. She laughed and said that's the usual on my long body. She focused on my neck for a while and asked if I am one of those side sleepers that's put an arm under the pillow. LOL. She obviously knows something about the cause of the stiffness on the right side of my neck. For a lady that may weigh less than half of what I do and is about a foot and half shorter she sure uses her strength well as I walk out of there loose as a goose and feeling great for a couple of days until my bad habits screw everything up.
After the session I headed over to Costco and dropped a few hundred on the usual weird grocery orders that I do. I did pick-up a GPS thingee for the car as Harrison since getting onto my insurance policy early this week has decided that he needs my car every day to get out and about. Turns out his sense of direction came from my DNA as he is also getting lost or going out of his way to get somewhere. Last night he was on his way to Spartanburg to pick up someone up that was in Greer. Nothing like going past 3 or 4 exits later on the highway and then back tracking on regional roads to get to where you want to be. I figure the GPS will help him. It'll help me as well. LOL. Hopefully he figures out how to fill up the gas tank as well seeing his propensity to drive the car this week. I did notice that my latest fill up is disappearing but quick.
Well that pretty much sums up what I did today activity wise. I had a massage and went to Costco. Had a nap or two to build back up the sleep deprivation bank and watched my Nats get blown out by the Colorado Rockies. Man oh man it is hard to watch Dan Haren pitch. He is such a stand-up guy but his splitter isn't splitting and is often ending up over the fence.
I not only follow my Nats on MLB but as well on DC website MASN and love posting there as the games go on. It gives me a chance to either cheer or vent on how the team and the games are going on a franchise that I have been following for 43 years. I've decided though after last night that it just isn't worth it when faced with infantile behavior displayed by someone whose lack of intelligence is on display regularly on the site. I questioned some of his more ridiculous comments and this amoeba (Piero B) called me out in Italian like a 7 or 8 yr. old in a playground somewhere and wants to have a fight. What an effing dumbass! First of all to post in Italian thinking that people wouldn't understand and secondly to call me out for a fight. This is supposedly a grown man hiding behind some fake avatar with some fake name acting brave. I hate effing internet bullies and especially hate people that post on websites hiding behind some fake identity spewing their filth and fake outrage while not having the balls, backbone and cojones to do so without using some fake identity. Fucking loser cowards! LOL.
Okay enough venting about that. Suffice to say I was not happy that my Nats also lost today 7-1 and are back at the mediocre level of winning one and losing one. Winning two and losing two.
Anyways time for some midnight munchies. Peace out rock and rollers and don't forget that we still have one day left in the glorious weekend!

Ah Baseball
Ah the beginning of a new MLB season where hope springs eternal that my team (the Washington Nationals) will do all of the little things correctly and make September a month for me to think that they have a chance. With some of the changes they made over the off-season, I will paraphrase the Godfather of Soul and state that "I feel good." So good, so good. LOL. I'm actually singing the words.
Anyways here are some of my quick thoughts on the season so far in no particular order except to note that this is how it is coming to my keyboard as I hunt and peck.
Firstly I am super impressed with Jamie Moyer's return to the major leagues after being away for over 600 days. This after Tommy John surgery and after turning 49 years old this past November. Most guys his age are practicing right arm curls with a bottle of beer rather than figuring out ways to get players out on the Astros that weren't even born when he started pitching in the majors.I read that he has 8 children. Maybe that's why he still needs to pitch. Can you imagine in this age having 8 kids? Wow. The patience of Job is required no doubt. Remarkable story.
One thing I have noticed in our instant gratification society that we live in today is how quickly we turn nasty. Most teams have played two or three games and if you read some of the comments on different websites about team play or certain individual's play, it's a sad commentary on how we quickly the knives come out.
If you're a Braves fan or Red Sox fan, a lot of them are already losing coherent thought and respect for others. I mean it's only game three of the season. Geez Louise. Someone has to lose a game. You lose 1-0 to 10-0, it's a loss either way. They're already calling for the heads of Gonzales and Valentine. Ridiculous fairweather fans that have no idea what they are talking about.
The Tigers with Cabrera and Fielder in the 3rd and 4th spots look scary. I saw the game yesterday afternoon and they both hit a couple of jacks. You don't have to be slim jims when you hit 'em as far as they do. They make hitting look easy. Josh Beckett looked he had batting practice stuff against those guys yesterday.
Have to feel bad for the Cleveland Indians. They've played a 16-inning game and a 12-inning game and came up short both times agaisnt the Blue Jays. Tough way to start a season. At least they had a day-off between games. It's weird starting the season on a Thursday and then having a Friday off.
Back to my Nationals now. Big difference with the team this year is they seem to have an abundance of major league players. Be it in the starting rotation. The bullpen. The bench. They are a lot more solid this year than last year. Good to see Chad Tracy come up big in the first two games. Davey Johnson is going to have some tough decisions to make when Ankiel and Morse are ready to come off the DL. Lidge and Rodriguez are making us forget that Storen will be back real soon. Clippard and his funky glasses has started right where he left off last year.
I think it will be a fun year for my Nationals.

Ramble On Is What I Do...
So earlier today I had the best intentions to be super-productive. I was going to do some laundry. Do some home-cooking. Do some work-work. Get my tax documents together.
So the reality of the thing is that I Marc Schlewing aka TC aka the Schliv was not all that productive.
I brought H to work this morning at 8. I got back home and brewed some coffee and then got onto my bank website and checked out my activity over the last couple of days and wondered where the heck 2/3 of my pay cheque went. Verizon, Duke Energy, Piedmont Natural Gas, TD Bank (car), etc. etc. eteffincetera and I am not talking about one of the former lead singers of Chicago.
Then I decided to dedicate the next two hours of my life to reading up, catching up and following up on the only sport that matters when Germany is not playing in the World Cup. Yes boys and girls, ladies and gentlemen pitchers and catchers for my Expos slash Nationals report tomorrow. Hell Yeah!
So instead of being productive I spent half the morning reading up on baseball! Alleffinright!
I then made myself some eggs with some sliced tomatoes on the side along with some whole-wheat toast and read my Greenville News. Surprisingly the editorial page wasn't filled with GOP nonsensical commentary like it normally is. It sometimes gets to the point that I want to cancel my subscription because of that editorial page. It does help me to understand how the eff Jesse Helms represented this state. Okay getting off the sanity soapbox now. Big grin. LOL.
After that I ended up turning on the TV having every intention to put it on an alternative or classic rock station to listen to while I demonstrated superproductivityexpealishous (possible spelling error there). LOL. H left the TV on Sundance and they were running the "John Lennon vs the US" documentary and there went my productivity at 10am. Fascinating documentary. You would have thought that Nixon had more important matters to attend to back then. Interesting what people in power think is important.
After that show I discovered that WGN was running back to back to back "Law and Order - Criminal Intent" episodes. Well three hours of my life were spent watching that show. I never watched it when it was originally aired now I am L & O junkie. They were running episodes out of order as they usually do. One had Chris Noth as the lead detective and the others had Vince D'Onofrio as the lead detective.
I finally got around to cooking. I started and still am in the process of making a homemade albondigas soup (Mexican meatball soup) for H to enjoy after his workshift. The recipe states that it is ready in and hour and half. This is the second time making it and I still am running around the two or two and hlf hour mark on it. The prepping of the celery, carrots, potatoes, meatballs, cilantro, onions, etc. take a little longer than what is called for I think. I know the last time I made this, it was a winner. I thought it was great as did H. J will need to try some tomorrow if she comes over after her workout. I will get her verdict then.
Darn I need to get H. I had more to talk about but I guess it will have to wait til tomorrow.

Long Day

So you ever notice how some days just seem longer than others? Today was one of those for me. Up and at 'em at 430am for some reason. I'm stressed out a bit I am sure. There are days that I am just waiting for that other shoe to drop and then I am effed or will be effed.
For lack of a better example in symbolism I get that vision of a hamster on that wheel that you often see in their cage. I upgraded that vision to a hamster as there is no way I'm a rat.
So I was up way too early on too little sleep trying to play catch up on work stuff. I really suck at using my time effectively. Okay that isn't the nicest verbage but on 4.5 hours of sleep I just don't think I am too verbose.
I knew I had chauffeur duties for H at 715am, 11am and 10pm today plus a full day's work and trying to meet my objectives for my weekly one on one. Just too many things that I had to do. Fortunately my one on one was pushed back to the end of the day which allowed me to be better prepared and take care of some other work things.
I pass by one of my banks and realize darn I didn't bring my chequebook and car payment thingee. Just another thing I need to remember for tomorrow. I know I will now as I put all of that next to my money stash. Okay it isn't quite a stash. LOL. I found the car payment thingee. Now I need to find my chequebook. I am a walking lost and lost and found department. Yes I meant to double up on the lost part.
I need to set up the time to get myself to an optometrist. I definitely need a new prescription. Everything is blurry it seems with these glasses. Schlewings tend to be tall as a rule which is a good thing but our vision absolutely sucks.
Dang, effed, effed, sucks and sucks; I'm thinking that a Nobel Prize for Literature is not in my near future!
Cool song. Frankie Goes to Hollywood on a mix CD with "Welcome To The Pleasure Dome". I love this song. No clue what it means. "The animals are winding up". WTF are they watches? Are they pitching off a mound? "Shooting stars never stop even when they reach the top". Top of what? Hill? Bill? Window Sill? Someone help me and explain this song to me. Please pretty please. LOL. Okay I know it makes no sense. That's okay it has a great beat!
So what else happened today? Our governor Nikki Haley admitted she was wrong. LOL. That should be a daily occurence actually amd twice on Sundays! What was she wrong about? Well a little while back she stated that half of the applicants for jobs at a nuclear plant facility failed their drug tests. What can one say about that statement without being sued for slanderous commentary? Actually whatever I would type could not be considered slanderous given the total lack of intelligence that was used in uttering that statement. Her defense was someone on her team told her this. Well it must be fact then. Effin Einstein. I am so proud that she is there in the corridors of power defending my interests. Can you detect sarcasm there? Gawd I sure hope so.
On a more pleasant note my Expos / Nats won in the first game of revenue-grab doubleheader by scoring a run in the top of the 10th. Drew Storen picked up his 39th save. Roger Bernandina hit a 3-run homer. I would love to see what this guy could do in a full year of ABs. His numbers aren't terrible. .245 BA, .307 OBP. 16SB 2CS. Pretty solid numbers as a 4th outfielder. He does need to cut down on the KOs though. After all who do we have in the outfield? The Beast (Morse) and the Rich Dude (Werth). Roger Dodger fits there perhaps if the rich man is in CF. At least until Bryce Harper is ready for the show in 2013. Why the heck not?
Okay enough typing for now. Time for din-din. Penne Pasta with hot Italian sausage in a white sauce. Yum.
