A Short Friday Blog (07/19/13).....

So here I am on Friday night listening to a mixed CD which I will likely blog about afterwards and I'm having an excellent Harpoon IPA as a reward after mowing 2/3 of my lawn after getting home from work. I am already on laundry load number #2. I know I lead an exciting bachelor's life! Here's the thing, H thinks the car belongs to him now especially in the evenings. Ha! That explains my lack of social life. LOL. Although even if I had access to the car I'd be staying in tonight as I had some domestic Gawd duties to attend to that I couldn't get around to doing in my usual hectic week.

I actually texted H earlier this week to tell him that I needed MY car on Saturday as I have an early morning massage at ME and then I'm off to Kingsport, Tennessee to see one of my fave bands of all time. Chicago is playing at FunFest about three hours away and I can't wait to see them. I saw them way, way back when in the 70s. Yeah I know I am effing old when I am referring to concerts I attended when I was a teenager. I have clothes older than when I last saw Chicago. I don't fit in those clothes though because I quit smoking 60 pounds ago.

It's effing hot out there. I had some ice cold Yuenglings as I was mowing and it seemed like I was sweating them out as soon I started moving around and mowing. With all the rain that we have had the last couple of weeks (daily occurrence) my weeds were growing rampant. I did manage to finish most of it and will complete the back piece on Sunday when I am back from Kingsport.

I have a couple of blogs that I need to edit about my week on Sanibel Island. I wrote them up on my smart phone and it took me forever to type or key it out on that mini-keypad. LOL. Hence they haven't been posted yet.

I'll be a bit more prolific in the coming days. I've been dealing with stuff the last couple of weeks. Peace out Rockers!

Hey Hey I Am Or Was Lazy Today (06/22/13)....

Just kicking back tonight listening to Ronny Mack on the overnight and trying to figure out how I will be more productive on Sunday than I was today. LOL.

Let's just say that I did not set the bar too high today. After sleeping about 2.5 hours last night I headed over for my monthly massage with Becky at Massage Envy. She asked me where I was sore and I gave her the usual I am tight all over once again. She laughed and said that's the usual on my long body. She focused on my neck for a while and asked if I am one of those side sleepers that's put an arm under the pillow. LOL. She obviously knows something about the cause of the stiffness on the right side of my neck. For a lady that may weigh less than half of what I do and is about a foot and half shorter she sure uses her strength well as I walk out of there loose as a goose and feeling great for a couple of days until my bad habits screw everything up.

After the session I headed over to Costco and dropped a few hundred on the usual weird grocery orders that I do. I did pick-up a GPS thingee for the car as Harrison since getting onto my insurance policy early this week has decided that he needs my car every day to get out and about. Turns out his sense of direction came from my DNA as he is also getting lost or going out of his way to get somewhere. Last night he was on his way to Spartanburg to pick up someone up that was in Greer. Nothing like going past 3 or 4 exits later on the highway and then back tracking on regional roads to get to where you want to be. I figure the GPS will help him. It'll help me as well. LOL. Hopefully he figures out how to fill up the gas tank as well seeing his propensity to drive the car this week. I did notice that my latest fill up is disappearing but quick.

Well that pretty much sums up what I did today activity wise. I had a massage and went to Costco. Had a nap or two to build back up the sleep deprivation bank and watched my Nats get blown out by the Colorado Rockies. Man oh man it is hard to watch Dan Haren pitch. He is such a stand-up guy but his splitter isn't splitting and is often ending up over the fence.

I not only follow my Nats on MLB but as well on DC website MASN and love posting there as the games go on. It gives me a chance to either cheer or vent on how the team and the games are going on a franchise that I have been following for 43 years. I've decided though after last night that it just isn't worth it when faced with infantile behavior displayed by someone whose lack of intelligence is on display regularly on the site. I questioned some of his more ridiculous comments and this amoeba (Piero B) called me out in Italian like a 7 or 8 yr. old in a playground somewhere and wants to have a fight. What an effing dumbass! First of all to post in Italian thinking that people wouldn't understand and secondly to call me out for a fight. This is supposedly a grown man hiding behind some fake avatar with some fake name acting brave. I hate effing internet bullies and especially hate people that post on websites hiding behind some fake identity spewing their filth and fake outrage while not having the balls, backbone and cojones to do so without using some fake identity. Fucking loser cowards! LOL.

Okay enough venting about that. Suffice to say I was not happy that my Nats also lost today 7-1 and are back at the mediocre level of winning one and losing one. Winning two and losing two.

Anyways time for some midnight munchies. Peace out rock and rollers and don't forget that we still have one day left in the glorious weekend!

Saturday Morning

Well this is going to be a quick one as I have breakfast sausage cooking on low in the kitchen. Definitely a nice aroma to it as it wafts towards my room. I've been up and at 'em since H woke me up at 740am to give him a ride to Food Lion as he slept in because the battery on his droid gave up in the middle in the night it seems. It's great smart phone but the battery really sucks. You're lucky if it lasts half a day when you've several apps going.

I was going to shave this morning before going to see Becky at Massage Envy for my monthly massage but I started reading some news items and before you knew it I had to hop in the shower and get going to not be late. I have what I call as itchy face. It's been a couple of weeks since I shaved and my beard has tons of white and/or grey in it. I'm getting old. That isn't exactly a breaking news story.

Anyways I have Marillion on the player and I am about to prepare a big huge breakfast for yours truly. I was going to stop in for breakfast at the local diner but I knew I had to pick up a couple of things at Food Lion where H is at so I figured I may as well get all of the breakfast fixings and do it at home. Those sausages smell wonderful!

Time to get another coffee going, slice some tomatoes and get some eggs going. I always feel good after my monthly morning massage. I need to somehow bottle that vim and vigor for the rest of the month. Ha.

Small Guilty Pleasure

So I am awake in the middle of the night for a change. It's about 340am and 59f in Simpsonville. There's a time and weather check for you. LOL. I have CHOM playing in the background and Mr. Plant is singing that "I really oughta know". What a pretty song "Over The Hills And Faraway"!

Anyways I went for my monthly massage yesterday afternoon at Massage Envy and pretty much screwed up all the good that Becky did by falling asleep on the couch watching MLB. I need to stop doing that. LOL. That is a like a tiger changing his or her stripes. Not bloody likely.

As it was decent outside I decided to head to the westside of town and drop in at The Liberty Tap Room for one of my guilty pleasures. I sat down on the terrace ordered a Fat Tire draft and out came the daily crossword. It had been since last summer since I last had their "Roasted Chicken Nachos". This is yummy conconction of tortilla chips, roasted chicken, queso, pico de gallo, jalapenos, lettuce and sour cream. I love it and quickly devoured it along with a 2nd Fat Tire.

I would have put a picture of roasted chicken nachos but I couldn't find a good picture that would do justice to the dish I had this afternoon so I put up the Fat Tire pic. LOL.

All in all it was nice way to spend an afternoon. A massage, a couple drafts and a guilty pleasure.

I'm Back Typing Over And Out

I have been remiss in posting my blah-blah-blogs so far this year. It just seems that I have been super-busy and have not had much time to spring upon the world more semi-coherent thoughts from the TC perspective. Note that I typed TC not PC. TC is my nickname according to J. She wanted to give me a nickname that didn't contain any vowels because she knows of my intense dislike for AEIOU and sometimes Y. I'm kidding of course. TC stands for Tall Canadian. I kind of like that nick at least until I start shrinking in my old age where it will then become UTBTC as in "Used To Be TC". LOL. I amuse myself with my thought process sometimes. O:)

Anyways I just going to babble a bit online this morning. Been pretty darn productive so far. Went to bank and made my car payment and avoided a late charge. LOL. It would be so much easier if I would just enroll online to pay that loan off. Thing is, it is the only thing I do with the TD Bank so it would seem kind of odd to pay my loan online from another bank. Remember this is TC world we are talking a boot of Italy.

Saw B at Massage Envy for my monthly try to fix my rapidly expanding bod of mine. She asked me today if we are tall like me from Canada. LOL. This has something to do with my feet hanging off the massage table I think. Anyhow I feel much looser now though my right hammy still bugs me and it doesn't take long to "Tighten Up" as Archie Bells and the Drells once sang. Used to hear that song all the time on "The Electric Lunch Hour" back in the day when I had hair.

Went home after that. Emptied the dishwasher, lit some candles and chopped some veggies up for a spaghetti sauce I am making. Turns out I didn't have to drive the prodigal son to work as he has a ride. He's got a 9 and 1/2 hr. shift again at the store. He's a pretty good kid and I am quite proud of him!

So that's it for now. Time to check on the sauce and read up on euchre. J and I are invited to a card party tonite. I don't think I have ever played euchre before. I may be as bad at that game as the Habs are on most nights. LOL.

Christmas Eve Day

Started the day off with a cup of coffee and then I was off to Massage Envy to get this long body of mine pampered for an hour. As per usual B did a wonderful job on my neck, shoulders and right leg. After walking out of there I wanted to bottle up that moment because that is the loosey gooseyist that I will feel until the 3rd Saturday in January when I go back for my monthly massage. The best $39 I spend in a month I think! I used to spend that in a week on smokes. Hmmm. Maybe spending that on a therapeutic thing would be a smart move on my part. My stopping to sleep on too short couches would be a cheaper thing to do. LOL.

After that I went to pick up a colleague from work and brought her for a late breakfast at Stax. A belated birthday breakfast. Hands down Stax on Orchard Park has the best breakfast in Greenville that I have had so far. I haven't done any of the hotel brunches yet so the voting isn't quite complete yet. Stax is hard to beat though. I love their Denver omelet and home fries!

Just before dropping V at home, we went to BiLo to buy lotto tickets. It seems that the prizes are huge right now on the MegaMillions and Powerball lotteries. I stopped buying tickets a few years ago when I found it too much of a pain trying to get paid back by work colleagues for the tickets I was buying. Some thought I was offering payment terms. LOL. Well I wasn't. Anyways I now have lotto tickets for tonight's and next Friday's draw it seems.

While V was buying the tickets I figured I would get that spiral ham for tomorrow's Christmas dinner. Well I was getting it at BiLo until I got peeved at their shady marketing ploy. Really peeved! I picked up an 8 lb. ham at the BiLo bonuscard price of $15 something however that price wasn't really the price it seems. Had I looked at the weekly circular I would have seen some crap ass pricing gimmick of the spiral ham being $1.69 a pound rather than the rip off price of $2.69 or something like that if I spent a total of $35.00.

First of all I don't look at circulars though I guess I should and secondly it didn't effen say that where the hams were being sold. The price tag said this price without card and that price with the card. I had to ask for the manager just to make that point. Even when you read the ad it doesn't make sense. Anyways I was peeved. The poor young lady monitoring the self checkout didn't know what to say to me to explain it. It didn't help that her first language wasn't English.

I am open-minded, however if you have a job dealing with the public it's probably a good thing if your command of the language of your public or customer is more than adequate. If you can't, perhaps another position would make sense. It isn't like you are able to solve any issues given that you can't understand what your customer is saying. That's just me though. Anyways needless to say BiLo is not on my list of places to shop for the next little while. Glad H doesn't work there anymore. LOL. So I decided I was going to get that ham elsewhere!

So after dropping V off at her place, I headed back towards home and had to stop at a couple of places to get some wrapping paper, labels, gift bags, a Christmas present or two and that dang spiral ham. Well I did all of that and spent more money than I planned to do. I think sometimes I would be better off if I carried more cash around and then I would have a better idea how I am spending money. I know that so far today I have spent money at Stax, Big Lots, The Great Escape and Food Lion. I know I spent more than I should. Again! LOL.

J and her girls are on their way back from Orlando, Fl after being away for a week and I figured that I am going to prepare a light Christmas Eve meal of sorts for when they get back to their house. So I better wrap this up and start prepping the food. On the menu are some nice Italian-style cold cuts, shrimp, fresh salad, a veggie plate that I am prepping and cleaning, bruschetta (homemade), some brie and gouda and fancy crackers, egg nog and some adult beverages. Heh heh. I also have to wrap presents. I bought two thingees of scotch tape. The way I wrap stuff I may need them both.

In finishing this up I would like to express my holiday sentiments here to everyone that reads my ramblings. I know some of you that read these and some of you are strangers. The thoughts below are for everyone.

This time of the year is especially an important time for families. Some of us have large families and some have smaller families. Some of us are fortunate enough to have our parents still alive and well. Some of us sadly don't. Sadly I don't but that is life. What I have learned is that you have, you must and you need to love of your loved ones that are still around. Family and friends alike. You never know when things can change. Arguments, disagreements, spats and misunderstandings are things that happened in the past. We learn from the past but we live in the now. Be happy, be free, be healthy and tell all of your loved ones that you love them be it in person, by phone or by email. Peace out.
